The Royal Caribbean International was founded in 1968 by the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Within the first four years, a total of three ships were put into service. After a failed takeover attempt by Carnival Cruise Line, the company restructured and created the "Sovereign of the Seas", which was the largest cruise ship in the world at the time. In 1999 the company fundamentally changed the cruise industry by introducing various attractions on the ships such as ice rinks, climbing walls or the “Royal Promenade” (deck with shops, lounges and cafes).

Ships

Cruises to the southern Caribbean can be started from ports such as New York or Baltimore on the ships of the Grandeur of the Seas or Anthem of the Seas. Trips to the western Caribbean can start from the ports in Florida and Texas. Various ships from the Royal Caribbean fleet (Vision, Independence, Brilliance, Symphony, Navigator, Serenade, Allure, Liberty or Empress of the Seas) are used for this purpose. Tours to the Eastern Caribbean also start from Florida e.g. Port Canaveral or Fort Lauderdale and can be carried out on the ships of the Harmony, Allure or Oasis of the Seas. All of Royal Caribbean International's currently 25 ships are divided into different classes. At the moment there are seven 7 classes in which the ships are divided. The first class that started it all is the Sovereign Class / Empress Class. There is also the Vision class, Radiance, Voyager, Freedom, Oasis and Quantum class. There is the Viking Crown Lounge in all classes except the Oasis and Quantum classes. This is always located on the top deck of the ships, invites you to linger and sip cocktails with a grandiose panoramic view of the sea. The Empress of the Seas and the Majesty of the Seas are included in the Sovereign Class or Empress Class. The Empress of the Seas is the smallest ship in the entire fleet and is assigned to the Sovereign class. The class is characterized by the open atrium, the relaxed design and the many entertainment options. Vision class - as the name of this class already suggests, the vision - the progress and view was a particularly important component for the construction of the ships. A bright, friendly and elegantly designed atrium ensures a carefree atmosphere on the ships. A seemingly endless play of lights, which is created by the numerous windows, glass domes and skylights, invites you to dream. This class includes, among others, the Vision and the Enchantment of the Seas. Anyone who loves art in harmony with luxury is in good hands on the ships of the Radiance class. Here you will find impressive pictures and sculptures, a modern interior and almost endless glass surfaces across all decks. The feeling of freedom is very important on the ships of this class. These include, for example, the Jewel or the Serenade of the Seas. In the Voyage class, the vacation aspect and entertainment are of immense importance. On the ships of this class you will find countless leisure activities on 15 decks, such as ice skating, various shops and the famous Royal Promenade. The ships are particularly suitable for families due to the children's and youth programs on offer, which also allow parents to spend time together. The ships of the Voyage class like the Adventure and Navigator of the Seas warmly welcome you. In the spirit of freedom, the Freedom class is dedicated to freedom. Here you can relax in the water paradise in the pools, try your hand at surfing or dance to rhythmic music with the passengers. The Independence, the Freedom and the Liberty of the Seas welcome you. Welcome to the Oasis class! Experience the cruise of the future on these ships. Many innovations on 18 decks inspire our guests every day. Stroll through Central Park in the heart of the ship or slide along the upper deck while zip-lining. Come aboard the Oasis class on, for example, the Allure, Harmony or Symphony of the Seas. A superlative cruise awaits you in the Quantum class. This class is even more revolutionary. Once you've traveled on one of these ships, you'll want to come back again and again. The ships built in the Meyer Werft fascinate with the North Star with a breathtaking view of the sea or skydiving. Come aboard the Anthem of the Seas, the Ovation of the Seas or the Quantum of the Seas and let yourself be carried away.
