Packing list camping - You have to have it on board for the camper trip

A trip with the camper has a number of advantages, but when it comes to luggage it is particularly big: you can simply take more with you! In contrast to backpackers, you don't even have to laboriously drag your belongings on your back. Of course, you need completely different utensils, which is why the “Camping Packing List” is a bit more extensive. Nevertheless, the same applies to camping: less is more. After all, you don't want to live in the small home on four wheels like in a storeroom. So that you do not lose track of all the important things, we have carefully devoted ourselves to the topic of “Camping Packing List” in our digital travel guide for the Scandinavian round trip. So you know what you really have to take with you and what you can safely leave at home. You can tick off part of the packing list in the free reading sample of the PaulCamper travel guide! You can find the right camper for your trip at PaulCamper.

Packing list camping equipment

Let's start with our loyal companion, the camping van. As a newcomer to camping in particular, it is important to take your time to check again whether everything important is on board. It starts with the supply of gas, fresh water and electricity and extends over the clothesline to the pillow. Here is our packing list for the equipment to tick off:

PACKING LIST CAMPER EQUIPMENT

  • Gas bottle (+ possibly gas content meter)
  • Water hose for fresh water
  • Sewer hose
  • Cable drum
  • Camping power adapter
  • Drive-up wedges or wooden boards as supports

With these things you have already packed the most important things and will be able to make ends meet at every campsite. The campsite is also mostly needed: In Norway and Sweden the right of access applies, but this only applies to tents and not to mobile homes and other vehicles. With the tent you can camp anywhere where it is not expressly forbidden. Campers have to use pitches. For this reason, a parking guide should not be missing. This is how you can quickly find the next rest area. A few additional things make the camping packing list longer and camping life more pleasant:

  • Parking guide
  • hammock
  • blanket
  • Card games

Packing list for culinary matters

Now that we are equipped for emergencies, we can devote ourselves to beautiful and, above all, delicious things again. Norway and Sweden are expensive countries and a visit to a restaurant can easily be beyond your budget. Barbecue and camping kitchen go much better with camper romance anyway. So that you are well equipped, we have noted everything on the camping packing list that is useful for you when preparing your dinner. A tip on the side: Buy long-life foods such as pasta, rice or cans of vegetables in Germany. This will save you a whole lot of money. You can better buy the fresh ingredients on site. Important tip for night owls: alcohol in Norway and Sweden is many times more expensive than in Germany. According to customs regulations, you are allowed to import small amounts of alcohol. So if you want to drink a beer or a glass of wine by the campfire without rushing into expenses, then it's best to pack it in Germany. You can find the exact import quantities here.
