How did modern dance emerge from ballet?
Unita was born in Pasay, Philippines. She received her dance training at the Makiling Arts School, University of the Philippines and Gigi Velarde School, among others. From 1992-98 she was engaged as a soloist in the National Company of the Ballet Philippines. Further engagements followed at the Theater Basel and Stadttheater Gießen as well as appearances as a member of the dance theater Irina Pauls Heidelberg-Freiburg. In 2006 and 2008 she was a guest dancer at the PVC Tanztheater Freiburg-Heidelberg. She took part in the "Diary of Nijinsky" at the Stadttheater Aachen, in "Der Fremde" at the Theater Trier and "Carmen" at the Stadttheater Freiburg. Unita has been a freelance dancer since 2009 and works with various choreographers such as Irina Pauls, Pablo Ventura, Andrea Schlehwein, Jasna Vinovrski, Vera Sander, David Bolger, Jo Fabian, Willi Dorner and Rosamund Gilmore. At the Leipzig Opera Dancer she danced in "The Ring of the Nibelung". Unita has been teaching contemporary and ballet with us since February 2018.
Franziska Wolf was born in Freiburg. She grew up bilingual (German / Russian), as her parents originally come from Kazakhstan. At the age of 10, Franzi began taking jazz dance lessons at DanceEmotion. Soon afterwards she became a member of the youth company New Contract (trainer Lena Lafrenz), with whom she took part in numerous appearances and competitions. With her company she achieved the runner-up title in Faro in 2006.
When she was 16, Franziska decided to do her dance training at DanceEmotion Academy. During the three-year training she received further training in ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz and hip-hop.
Franziska began teaching hobby classes at DanceEmotion during her training. Franziska completed her training at the DanceEmotion Academy in 2012 with excellent results. Through various television appearances and international workshops, Franzi not only gained experience in front of the camera, but also deepened her knowledge in countries such as B. Russia, France, and England. In addition to her stays abroad and dance engagements, Franziska is a dancer for the NeoDanceCompany Freiburg and leads the jazz dance companies Release and New Contract of DanceEmotion with a lot of energy and passion.
Ulrike Groß was born in Germany and moved to Bangkok, Thailand with her family as a child. There she spent the first 13 years of her life and enjoyed qualified and intensive lessons in Thai dance and ballet. After her return to Germany, Ulrike studied health education and then did her master's degree in adult education at the Freiburg University of Education. In addition, she continued to dance intensively, discovered her passion for jazz and modern and decided to follow up with dance training. Ulrike completed her training at the DanceEmotion Academy, which she successfully completed in February 2018. Ulrike has been teaching both jazz and contemporary in our team since 2017 and is part of the NeoDanceCompany Freiburg.
