How does a radio find a station

Listen to the radio in the Apple Music app

Stream radio stations from all over the world. Tune in to the live Apple Music radio stations to catch shows hosted by the biggest names in the music business. And create your own stations with the music you love - all with radio in the Apple Music app.

This is how you find radio

  • On your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV, Android device, or Chromebook: Open the Apple Music app and go to the Radio tab.
  • On Apple Watch Series 3 or later: Open the Radio app.
  • On your HomePod: ask Siri to play a radio station.
  • On your PC: Open iTunes, choose Music from the pop-up menu, then click Radio in the navigation bar.
  • On the Internet: Go to music.apple.com, then click Radio in the sidebar.

Radio is only available in select countries and regions. The features available vary by country and region. Find out which features are available in your country or region.


Listen to live radio on Apple Music

With Apple Music subscription, you can tune into three live radio stations - Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits, and Apple Music Country. * Each station has shows hosted by the most respected names in the music business. You can listen to these broadcasts live and as needed.

How to get started:

  1. Open the Apple Music app or go to music.apple.com. On a PC: Open iTunes.
  2. Go to "Radio". Can't find the radio?
  3. Scroll to Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits, or Apple Music Country to listen live, view upcoming shows, and listen to previously aired shows as needed.

You can also ask Siri to play Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits, or Apple Music Country.

* You can listen to Apple Music Hits and Apple Music Country for a limited time without an Apple Music subscription. If you don't have an Apple Music subscription, you can listen to Apple Music 1 live, but you cannot access any previously broadcast programs.


Listen to radio broadcasts

You can use the Apple Music app to tune in to your favorite radio stations, including your local stations.

  1. Go to "Search".
  2. Find the radio station by name, abbreviation, frequency or nickname.
  3. Tap or click the relevant radio station to listen to it live.

You can also ask Siri to play a radio station.


Create your own channels

If you've subscribed to Apple Music, you can create your own station with the music you like. You can also save songs that you listen to on a custom station or a live radio station on Apple Music.And you can see your recently listened to stations.

  • Create your own station: play an artist, song or genre, go to "Now Playing", tap "More" or click on "More", then choose Create Station. Or say, "Hey Siri, start a station with" and then the name of a song, artist, or genre.
  • Saving a song: While listening to a custom station or live radio station on Apple Music, go to Now Playing, tap More or click on "More", then choose Add to Library. Or say, "Hey Siri, add this song to my library".
  • To see what stations you have recently played: Look under "Radio" in the "Recently played" section.

You cannot back up songs from live radio broadcasts.
