Google is the most widely used search engine in Europe. In 2019, with a market share of 93.6%, it was far ahead of other search services such as bing or Yahoo! Google's lead in individual European countries is not that great. Here, a few regional search services manage to assert themselves on the market. These include the Russian search engines Yandex and Mail.ru or the Czech search engine Seznam.

Regional search engines like Seznam and Yandex hold their own especially in the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Russia. Compared to other European countries, in which Bing and Yahoo together have a share of just around 5%, they open up 6.1% in the British market. The search engine giant Google can meanwhile also assert itself in the Eastern European search market. With a market share of 92.6%, Google gets most of the search queries in Ukraine and can increase its share here by over 90%. According to Google, Russian search services such as Yandex and Mail.ru 0.5% are used by Ukrainian Internet users. Bing and Yahoo! were able to keep their shares constant and are now ahead of the Russian search engine Mail.ru with a total share of 1.1%. Other search engines have a market share of around 0.4%.
