What is it and what is it used for?

Isotones Sodium chloride solution 0.9% Braun is a saline solution for dissolving or diluting medicines that you receive as an injection (syringe). The injection is given to increase blood volume or to balance the electrolyte balance.

The administration of this injection solution is always possible. Caution is advised if the patient has elevated potassium and / or sodium levels.

What do you need to consider before use?

There are no known conditions or illnesses in which you must never receive Isotonic sodium chloride solution 0.9% brown.

  • if you have high levels of sodium and / or chloride in your blood.

However, there are no known interactions between other drugs and Isotonic Sodium Chloride 0.9% Braun.

pregnancy and breast feeding period
Please inform your doctor about a possible pregnancy or that you are breastfeeding before treatment with Isotone sodium chloride solution 0.9% Braun.

For isotonic sodium chloride solution 0.9% brown, however, no special risks are known for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines:
This medicine has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

How is it used?

This medicine will be given to you by a doctor or nurse.

The amount you will receive depends on how much of the solution is needed to make the finished preparation.

You will receive the finished solution as an injection (as a syringe) either into a vein or under the skin, according to the instructions for use of the finished preparation.

If you have received more Isotonic Sodium Chloride 0.9% Braun than you should
Overdosing of sodium chloride (table salt) can lead to excessive salt concentration in the blood or excessive blood levels of sodium and chloride, with the consequence of tissue swelling due to water retention (edema) and acidification of the blood.

Should this occur, the administration of the solution is stopped immediately. The doctor will decide on any further treatment measures that may be required.

What are the possible side effects?

Like all medicines, Isotone Sodium Chloride 0.9% Braun can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

How should it be stored?

Store drug out of reach of children.

You may use the medicine according to the “Use by” or “Use by” on the carton and container. Do not use until ”or“ EXP ”stated expiry date. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.

This medicinal product does not require special storage conditions. You must not use Isotone sodium chloride solution 0.9% brown if you notice the following: Cloudiness or particles in the solution, damage to the container.
