The 7-day incidence in the Ravensburg district exceeded the value of 165 newly infected people per 100,000 inhabitants for three days in a row at the end of April. This means that the stricter provisions of the Federal Infection Protection Act, the so-called Federal Emergency Brake, are now also taking effect.

In addition to contact and exit restrictions, the regulations include further restrictions on face-to-face teaching at schools and universities. For students at the PH Weingarten this means that all face-to-face events that do not have a special permit will be canceled. Face-to-face events for which the Rectorate has granted an exemption may continue to take place. However, against the background of the significantly increased risk situation, the rectorate appeals to the lecturers to strictly check whether they want to keep the respective course in attendance or offer a substitute. If you are present, a written test certificate must be submitted and checked. The lecturers inform the participants of their course whether it is taking place in attendance or not.

Since the incidence figures change dynamically, the infection protection measures must also be adapted continuously and often at short notice. The university management and the lecturers ask for your understanding. The currently valid and legally binding incidence values, according to which the provisions of the Federal Emergency Brake are based, can be found on the website of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

Students, lecturers and employees of the PH Weingarten can now be tested for the corona virus. You can register for a test on the test center's website. According to the Corona Ordinance of the State of Baden-Württemberg, since April 26, students who want to take part in a face-to-face event must have a certificate of a negative Corona test, a corona illness in the last six months or a completed Corona test. Show vaccination. Self-tests are not sufficient and the tests cannot be older than 24 hours.

The health authorities need support to follow up on contact persons in the fight against the corona pandemic. The Ministry of Social Affairs asks students and employees of the universities to volunteer if there is a need for support in the respective district.

As the ministry announced, the effective tracking of contact persons plays an important role in the fight against the corona pandemic. However, the health authorities need additional staff for this. The Ministry of Science, Research and Art and the PH Weingarten support the appeal of the Ministry of Social Affairs. However, the specific need is defined and communicated by the respective responsible districts, which decide independently on the basis of the existing human resources and the pandemic situation.

If there is a need in the district and employees of the PH report, who in turn are deployed there, the employees can be exempted from their duties at the PH Weingarten for such an activity, taking into account the interests of the service. You could then, if necessary, work in the health department, leaving the monetary and non-cash benefits in place.

Students who decide to work in the health authorities can receive remuneration for this. Further information for students is published on the website https://www.bvoegd.de/medis4oegd/. Students can also register for the program there.

There are currently no specific requirements for employees of the PH from the district health department. However, it is to be expected that this can take place at any time at short notice if the number of infections increases. The PH asks interested employees to consider in advance whether they can imagine a temporary job in the health department.

The state of Baden-Württemberg issued a new Corona ordinance on study operations on January 11th. This again allows some exceptions for presence operation.

From January 18, individual courses with predominantly practical exercises can again be admitted by the rectorate with an exceptional permit. On the basis of the exemptions already granted in the winter semester, some face-to-face events have already been approved by the Rectorate.

Media can be pre-ordered in the university library from Thursday, January 12th. These can then be picked up from Monday. Otherwise the university library must remain closed.

The student workplaces in the palace building can again be booked using the DFN scheduler. You can find the links in the following overview (pdf). The specifications of the PH Weingarten hygiene concept that have already been announced must be complied with.

The rectorate sent further information and details on the exemption permits in a circular to the university members.

The new Corona ordinance on study operations applies until January 31, 2021.

As of: 01/13/2021; updated on 04/14/2021

In view of the corona situation and the nationwide lockdown, the Weingarten University of Education will also remain closed from December 19 to January 10, 2021. Until then, courses will only take place in digital formats.

The employees of the PH are also asked to stay at home and whenever this is possible on business, from December 19, 2020 to January 10, 2021, to make generous use of the regulations on working in the home office.

All facilities of the university on site including the university library will be closed during this time. All members of the university, including students and external parties, are prohibited from entering during this period. Exceptions for external parties, e.g. craftsmen, must be approved by the Chancellor. There will be emergency staffing in individual departments to maintain operations.

"We know that closing the PH until January 10th is a far-reaching measure," explained the rector, Professor Dr. Karin Schweizer. “But the infection situation is dramatic and it is now important to reduce the contacts and the risk of infection to an absolute minimum. With the closure, we want to do our part to contain the pandemic again and are of the opinion that the disadvantages of a closure are justifiable during this period. We therefore ask all of our students, teachers and employees for your understanding and wish them a quiet, relaxing, peaceful and healthy Christmas season. "

The rectorate and faculty management do not assume that the situation will fundamentally change after January 10, 2021. Against this background, teachers and students are asked to be prepared for the fact that individual measures may have to be extended until the end of the semester. Therefore, an optional extension of the exam week to Friday, February 19, 2021 for subjects that have a higher requirement was decided.
