The Scindia School

The Scindia School is an English middle school and boarding school for boys in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The school was founded in 1897.

German lessons at the school

From the 6th grade onwards, students have the opportunity to choose German as a foreign language and then continue the subject up to the 12th grade. We founded a society for children, the Schiller Society. This publishes the school magazine “Zeitgeist” and the German Wall Magazine “Scindia this week”. The Schiller Society organizes spelling, caricature and puzzle competitions as well as Schiller Evenings.

PASCH activities and international exchange

We have been a PASCH school since 2008. Our students regularly receive scholarships to fly to Germany and take part in seminars. We also organize German youth camps at the school, which we organize with the help of the Goethe-Institut New Delhi. The Scindia School is a member of the Round Square Conference. We have exchange programs with USA, England, Australia, Ghana, Kenya and Morocco.

Extracurricular activities

Our school has sponsored two villages. Every year the young people go to the villages and organize sporting activities for disadvantaged schoolchildren. Our school also takes part in rainwater management and tree planting activities. We planted 160 trees in one year. We also support the students at the local school for the deaf and mute.
