The Philadelphia Phillies have announced that the 2020 Phillies Charities 5K run/walk has been postponed.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, March 28, the annual 5K has become an important fundraiser for Phillies Charities, Inc. and a popular event with fans of the ball club.

Last year, I participated for the first time. It was a cold but sunny March day, and a huge crowd made up of thousands of runners and walkers were on hand. Myself? Well, I’m a walker right now.

The actual running/walking takes place on what has been laid out as a USATF certified 3.1 mile course which starts and ends at Citizens Bank Park, winding out past Lincoln Financial Field and then into and out of the Navy Yard property. When weather permits, the team allows a cool down lap around the warning track on the field.

At this point the event has not been completely cancelled. The following message was released to participants on Friday, March 13:

The Phillies Charities 5K, scheduled for Saturday, March 28, has been postponed. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to secure a new date and finalize details. We will communicate that information once it becomes available. Thank you for your support of Phillies Charities.

Once any information is released on a rescheduling of the event you can be sure that we will provide it to Phillies fans at our @philliesbell social media feeds on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
